About the Wiznet...

I'm a Wizards of Waverly Place dork. I know this, I've accepted it. On this site, I'll post about everything WOWP that comes to my attention, and share some random thoughts and stories. I've added pages about everything you could possibly need to know about the show for the average nut. Enjoy!

Characters

Alex Russo (Main Page)Alexandra "Alex" Margarita Russo is a wizard in training who is also one of the main characters of Wizards of Waverly Place. At age 16, she is the middle child in the Russo family: younger sister to Justin, and older sister to Max and the only daughter of Theresa and Jerry. Confident in her magic, and undisciplined in using her powers, she is constantly competing with her brothers to keep her powers. Often times her magic is used in such a way that she requires assistance from her brothers, a favor she at times needs to reciprocate much to her disdain. Her best friend is Harper. She was born in Cab 804, in the back seat.
In the Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, Alex and Justin are prematurely forced to do the full wizard competition and Alex wins, but in order to save her brothers and her family, she uses the Stone of Dreams and she gives up her powers so it can go back to the way things are. Things do go back to the way they were before she did the spell. And everything goes back to normal, though Alex has a stronger relationship with her mother, and brothers.

Justin Russo (Main Page):  Justin Vencenzo Pepe Russo, is the eldest child in the Russo family. At 18, Justin is an overachiever and exercises restraint over his powers as he tries to fit in at school. He enjoys reading comic books and learning about subjects in school. As the more mature sibling, Justin often finds himself cleaning up after Alex and Max's mishaps. He's also gained the unreciprocated affection of his sister's best friend Harper Finkle. He is left handed. We learned in Disenchanted Evening he's allergic to cinnamon. Justin is shown as a Great Student in Wizard Class and School. His sister Alex normally calls him a Kiss-Up.
Justin loves the fictional band Tears of Blood

Max Russo: Maxamilian "Max" Russo is the younger brother to Alex and Justin and is half Mexican from his mother Theresa and half italian american from his dad Jerry. As the youngest in the Russo family, Max is the most mischievous, determined to take his magic "to the Max." When he's not dodging homework and vegetables, Max plays practical jokes on his siblings. His first spell was 'Comakus Pancakus' to conjure up a stack of pancakes.
Max often uses his siblings' situation to his benefit. For example, when Alex used magic to go to the The Crazy Ten Minute Sale , Max used that time to tell his dad, Jerry Russo that he had broken his wand. Max is shown to have a C+ in Wizard Class which makes him average. He has a few strange habits such as putting Marshmallows with Aspragus and he uses his mom's dress as a Darth Vader Cape. In fact this unusual way of thinking allowed him to outsmart (or as Alex said "out-dumb") a genie into undoing her twisted wish's.

It is unknown if Max has lived in Waverly Place his whole life but it is known that he has Hispanic heritage from his mother's side. His mother often tries to get the kids to learn about their Latino heritage. From his father's side he inherited his Wizardry skills. It is likely that he is also half Italian from his father, due to the last name Russo and the fact that Alex has stated that they are only half Latino.

Max is known to play soccer as Justin is seen practicing kissing on Max's soccer ball in the episode First Kiss. He also likes to make strange sandwiches (which is useful, as his parents own a sandwich shop) and he loves to eat them even more.

Max is a witty, cheeky boy, when covering for his sister he manages to get sneakers off of her for it. His shoe size is a size 5. He is quite smart and always tries to "bend situations to his benefit"; when his sister was in trouble he used the opportunity to tell his dad that he broke his wand. He did not get in much trouble as his dad was busy with his sister.

Apparently, he likes Nintendo, as he is seen with a Nintendo and Wii Wand, which looks, and acts, like an actual Wii Remote, both in the first episode. He is also seen playing a Gameboy SP in some episodes. The same episode in which he gets his wand also demonstrates his regard for safety when he rips of the wands wrist strap as soon as Justin points out that it's for safety.
Max has little regard for safety or forethought. When reading up on the conscience spell he deiberatly ignored the 'please read' notice that went with it listing the dangers, which resulted in his conscience taking on physical form. He has also shown a dark side to himself that equals or even surpasses Alex. He blatantly told his conscience that when it comes to a choice between right and wrong he prefers wrong. He would rather sabotage his brother in the contest than study, even when Alex chose to study. When Conscience tried to warn him about the dangers of summoning monsters from Justins hand book Max completly ignored his warnings of mass chaos and danger and did so anyway.

In the Season 2, he starts to "work" for has money with his best friend Alfred. An example is in Smarty Pants, in was he puts water in bottles for sell it; and in Beware Wolf, he cared dogs.
Apparently, he has a crush with Gigi which it can see in Graphic Novel, and has his first date in Alex Does Good.

Max is a fun wizard and sometimes uses magic irresponsibly but on the whole he prefers to cause havoc without magic. He is quite mischievous and quick to use magic in a situation, like his sister, and it often leads to disaster. However in the end he makes things right with his abilities and help from his siblings. It is unknown if Max is capable of using magic without an aid such as a wand. So far, the only spells we have seen him use are "Comakus Pancakeus" when he was trapped on Mars, "Cambia corporum meum corpara sua niminavi" when he switched bodies with a dance instructor, and "soap on a rope, soap off a rope, rope shot out of my hand, rope tie up that man" when he tried to catch a restaurant burglar. In the episode Potion Commotion, he gets his full powers. He has to wear a horrible looking hat for four days until his powers were in control. In that episode he also uses the spell "Levitatus Liquidatus" to make a can of liquid float. It is also shown in previous episodes that he is behind in learning spells while his siblings are way ahead. For example in Potion Commotion, he is learning wizard training exercise #5 while Justin and Alex are learning lesson #372. He also tries to break set records, like in Pop Me and We Both Go Down, when his dad's trophy pulls off his underwear and runs away with it, Max says he wore those underwear for a long time, possibly a week. In the later episodes he starts to use more magic such as Pound for pound your a clown to use on Justin, which backfired and turned him into a clown), Roomius fixus (turned Alex's room to normal size), and also manymore spells in My Tutor, Tut or.

Alfred: Alfred (Andy Pessoa) is Max's best friend. He is known to be smarter than Max. He and Max started a water business in "Smarty Pants". Even, a dog business to give away a puppy for money.

Alucard van Hueson: Alucard van Hueson is a vampire who owns the Late Night Bite and is married to vampiress Cindy Van Huesen and the father of Justin Russo's girlfriend Juliet. He often acts very mysterious like a stereotypical vampire, to which his wife finds him overly dramatic.
-Alucard is Dracula spelled backwards

Cindy Van Huesen: Cindy Van Huesen is a vampiress married to vampire Alucard Van Huesen. Co-owner of the Late Nite Bite. And she is also the mother of Justin Russo's girlfriend Juliet. She acts like a nomal woman, rather than always trying to be frightening like her husband.

Peter "Dean" Moriarti: Dean Moriarty is Alex's main love interest in Season 2. At first, Harper didn't seem to like him because he had no set bedtime, was a bad boy, roams the halls of the school without a pass, and sells fake tattoos in the boy's bathroom (one of which Harper later purchased). Dean discovered Alex's crush on him when Alex announced it to the school in Graphic Novel. They later went on their second date and skipped their first because Alex believed first dates are 'sappy'. In Saving WizTech Part One Dean kept giving Alex the projects he'd made in wood shop, but didn't realize she didn't like them. So, he later made her a card out of wood that wasn't a project. He referred to her as 'Russo' and himself as 'Moriarty' until this episode. Before he had a chance to give Alex the card, Ronald Longcape Junior used Piggly, Wiggly, get in the Jiggly to lock him up in a block of gelatin and stole his card, which was later discovered by the headmaster of WizTech and therefore, returning it to Alex. It also shows Alex admitting she is in love with Dean at the end of Saving WizTech Part 2. Dean appears to be raised by his uncle, as he says in Racing, "my uncle raised me with manners". He seems to really like Alex, wanting to make a good first impression with her parents, and showering her with gifts. In Alex's Brother, Maximan, Dean mentions about his 'mama' making salad and nachos like Alex did. Dean moved away prior to the events of Dream Date. In Dream Date, Alex appeared in Dean's dreams and is controlling him, Dean comes and does not act the way he did in Alex's dreams and they broke up. Alex went in Dean's dream and Dean revealed he took it so easily so he could not have his heart broken. Alex also let Dean do whatever he wanted to in his dreams. He seems to think Abe Lincoln is a decent wingman.
He can often be seen hanging around the school with his posse, Joey, and several other, who seem to like talking about how 'ripped' he is.

Dr. Marybeth Evilini: Dr. Marybeth Evilini is an evil teacher at WizTech. Every year she held a 12-ball tournament to see who the greatest wizard was. She planned to take him or her to Volcano Land to drain their powers so she could become the most powerful witch ever. She sends wizard mail either via a Stuffed Messenger Pidgeon, or using a Messenger Fish that can talk.Jerko Pheonix and Justin Russo were the winners of all the 12-ball tournaments.

Elaine: Amanda plays many random people with a boring drawl, all of them are jobs which include department store manager, waitress, frozen yogurt store manager, hotel maitre'd, dog show security guard, the information desk lady at Volcano Land, and the art museum security guard. In the episode "New Employee" her name tag says Amanda. Elaine may know about magic since she had a job at Volcano Land a theme park only for wizards.

Frankie: Frankie is Justin's rival. He seems to have a crush on Alex and Harper, and he is often seen scamming Justin. Although he is just a child, Frankie seems to have the personality of an old time Italian gangster.Frankie has a similar personality to Stanley in That's So Raven and Rico in Hannah Montana and nevel from iCarly .They are all young ,short in height, they seem to have a crush on the female protagonist (main character), and they are seen scamming the protagonist's brother (well exept nevel). He first appeared in the episode New Employee. He usually stays by the Waverly Sub Station.

Frankie Stein: Franken Girl (Perry Mattfeld) is a female monster Justin created to guard his room from Alex in the season 3 episode "Franken Girl".
Her brain is the motherboard from Justin's laptop, which Alex then shuts down. Justin later uses magic on Frankie into wanting to be Alex's friend, and Frankie gets Alex to join the cheerleading squad with her. She is based on Frankenstein's monster. She reappears in "Three Monsters".

Gertrude "Gigi" Hollingsworth: Gertrude "Gigi" Hollingsworth is a classmate of Alex and Harper, as well as a rival to Alex. Their rivalry is dated back to kindergarten when Gigi spilled juice on Alex's mat and then told everyone Alex had an accident. She also targets Harper in the episode Alex's Choice and invites Harper to her annual tea party to crown her the biggest loser.
Gigi does not torment Alex and Harper alone; she has a duo of girls that bow down to Gigi's many whims.
Gigi's quest to make Alex look bad almost outs the Russos as wizards when Gigi gets into Alex's private journal and lives in Alex's medieval fantasies. Other than Harper, she can be considered as the character closest to finding out the Russo secret. She doesn't appear in Season 3 because she was possibly expelled in school for bullying Alex and Harper. Gigi also has a small posy who Alex and Harper call "The Wanna Be's".
-Gigi backwards is not 'Gigi,' but 'Igig.'

Harper Anne Finkle: Harper Anne Finkle is Alex's best friend, who has an obvious crush on Justin. She is potrayed by Jennifer Stone.
She enjoys making her own clothes, even if she's the only one who thinks they look great, no one has ever really told her that her designs are terrible just to humilate her. She thinks like an individual rather than choosing to be the same as everyone else. At first, she didn't know the Russo's were wizards until Harper Knows when Alex finally told her because she felt guilty for not telling the truth to her best friend. This was also the first time Harper experienced the use of magic when Alex gave her a charmed costume with super powers. She is often paranoid of Alex's schemes, especially after she finds out about magic, but reluctantly gets involved anyway. Despite Alex's controlling and manipulative behavior, Harper always sees the good side in Alex and is willing to to be accepting of her in sake of their friendship. She has known Alex since kindergarden and always there when Alex needs support. Harper wears weird clothes all the time. Most of her outfits are "food themed", such as in "New Employee" where she wore a shirt with a sandwich on it with french fry earrings, or in "Credit Check", where she was dressed like a cupcake. In Racing, she dresses up as a race car. Harper also creates home-made jewelery as seen in Art Museum Piece, when she starts a booth selling her necklaces made of macaroni, glitter, and knobs from Alex's room. The appearance of the jewelry looks as if they're trash, which was mistaken by many people. Other than herself, Mona Lisa (who had been brought to life) was the only one who actually appreciated and liked Harper's jewelry.
Harper has an obsessive crush on Alex's brother Justin, though he doesn't return her feelings; except for episodes "Baby Cupid", due to getting shot with Cupid's Arrow. She enjoyed the affects of the arrow at first, but soon got annoyed by all the attention Justin was giving her. In season 3 it's clear that Harper is still interested in Justin, but since he is dating Juliet she tries to convince herself and others that her and Justin's relationship is off and on, and right now they're on a break so that's why he's with Juliet. It is unknown whether Harper likes Juliet or not, she, along with Alex, is friends with Juliet. In "First Kiss", it is clear that she hated his girlfriend Miranda. Harper becomes good friends with Justin however, where she and Justin bond over an interest in silent movies in the episode "Justin's New Girlfriend", which Alex tried to sabotage but then became accepting. As long as Harper doesn't acted too obsessed with him, Justin finds her fun to hang out with.
In "Wizards and Vampires vs. Zombies", it's revealed that Harper also has a crush on Zeke Beakerman, to which they go to Zombie Prom together.
Although never seen, there are a lot of references that say she comes from a dysfunctional family. Her parents apparently don't get along and are in therapy. In "Wizards vs. Vampires: Tastey Bites", when Alex is so fed with her family's new healthy living, she says "I'm so desperate, I'm thinking about going to Harper's house", meaning that Harper's house is wild. In "Alex Does Good", Harper blurts out "It's about time I got some appreciation Mom!", claiming that her mom doesn't appreciate her. Harper moves in with Alex and the Russos in Season three, most likely because of her home. (well, that and because her dad got transferred to Pittsburgh and Harper didn't want to leave Alex.
In the episode "Future Harper", it's revealed that Harper becomes a famous author, who writes books based off of the Russo's wizard adventures, and writes under the name H.J. Darling. Alex, Justin, and Max find this out when they go to confront the author of the books that mysteriously mimic their lives. As the older Harper (Rachel Dratch) tells them, she writes her books in the present day because in the future, all mortals know about magic, and books about wizards aren't as interesting to read in that time period. She doesn't tell the Russo kids who it was that revealed the existence of wizards, other than it happens to be someone in that room. It's unkwnown if she ever married a someone with the last name Darling, or if she just uses the name H.J. Darling as way to keep her identity safe in the present day. One assumption is that it is a combonation of Harper (H) Justin (J) Darling (maybe focusing on her crush for Justin.)
In season three it is revealed that Harper is a cheerleader.

Relationships:
Justin, and Harper have shown to have things in common like their shared love of Silent Movies. and it is also hinted that there might be a relationship between these two, like in the episode Retest Justin is compared to Jerry, and Harper is compared to Theresa leading many Justin+Harper fans to believe they may end up together Harper may have out grown her Childish Crush on Justin as seen in Max's secret Girlfriend were she tell's Justin she dodged a bullet on him, when he is turned older.

Her crush on Zeke might have been spurred on by his similarity's with Justin, and she has shown to have a similar crush on Zeke, joining the Alien language league for him and the two have gone on one official date in Zombie Prom. In Alex Russo matchmaker Alex puts a spell on them to make them fall in love.

Hugh Normous: Hugh Normous believed he was a giant and being "rather small for his size", though he later realizes he was adopted. He befriends Alex when she goes to WizTec. His parents bought him smaller objects so he didn't have a low self esteem for being a "small giant".

Isabella: Isabella is a werewolf who dated Justin and turned him into a werewolf in the episode Beware Wolf. She is a mutt, because according to Mason only mutts change non-werewolf into werewolfs by the person kissing them.

Jennifer "Jenny" Majorheely: Jenny Majorheely (Gilland Jones) is a 16-year-old girl. She once dated T.J. Taylor, but he turned her into an middle-aged woman (Heidi Swedberg). Alex turned her back into a teenager. She knows Alex's secret and has a weird squeal, which annoyed Harper. She is in the Happy Helper's Club. The characters last name is a pun on the I Dream of Jeannie character Major (Roger) Healey.

Jerko Phoenix: Jerko Phoenix is Justin's rival at WizTech. He is a champion 12-Ball player at the school, but lost to Justin during the finals. He was first seen in "Wizard School", but is unknown if Jerko still is at WizTech as he didn't appear in the two-part episode "Saving WizTech" from season two. He wears an eye patch, so he doesn't wear have to wear the Harry Potter-style glasses. His name is a parody of Draco Malfoy, who was the rival of Harry Potter.

Jerry Russo: Jerry Russo is Theresa's husband, and father to Alex, Max and Justin. Having possessed magic powers as a child,he won the family wizard competition but gave them to his brother,Kelbo Russo, to marry Theresa. Jerry instructs his children in the proper practices to be used when conducting magic. He owns the Waverly Sub Station and runs the restaurant with his wife. Jerry Russo is the average father. He is stern, protective, and is constantly annoyed by his children. Unlike his children, he does not have powers. It is known that he wanted to be a bull rider for his backup plan. Nonetheless, his children inherited their powers from him. Jerry lives on Waverly Place, a street in downtown Manhattan with his mortal wife Theresa Russo and his children: Alex, Justin, and Max. In a few episodes, he has been known to call his wife, Theresa, old.
Jerry is proud of his magical ancestry and teaches his children about the proper uses of magic in "Wizards Training Class" on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, his children often disobey his magic rules, and he has to punish them. Jerry also has three nephews born to his younger brother Kelbo, Trevor who is 17, Graeme who is 14, and Kim who is 12.
In the episode Alex in the Middle, it was revealed that Jerry was actually the one who won the competition for family wizard. Theresa said that he beat Kelbo, but since wizards can't marry non-wizards, he gave his powers to Kelbo so he could marry Theresa. His sister Megan is mad at him for giving his powers to Kelbo and not her, but he explains thats because Kelbo needed them more than her. Jerry had also said that he had once used magic to try to impress a girl, such as in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, but it didn't end up good, for he wound up to marry that girl, Theresa Larkin.
In First Kiss, Jerry had stated that the spell, McReary Time Reary was a life-saver for him when he was young, probably hinting that he often gets into trouble as well.
Jerry's Parents were also introduced in the Episode Hugh's Not Normous as Rose and Carl Russo.

Facts:
-He is Italian, as revealed in Quinceañera
-Justin is very much like Jerry, as shown in the episode Retest
-His Full name was revealed as Jerome Pepe "Jerry" Russo
-His old wand from his childhood, which he calls " 'Ole Black Licorice," greatly resembles a typical magician's wand. It is a straight, black shaft with a white tip on one end. He lets Max borrow it in Crazy Ten Minute Sale, but he accidentaly sits on it and breaks it.
-Jerry's Great Great Grandfather Ignatius Russo wrote the very first jokebook about Giants.

Juliet Van Heusen:
Juliet Van Heusen was a once immortal vampire of 2,193 years, daughter of Alucard and Cindy van Heuson. She first appears in "Wizards vs. Vampires on Waverley Place" and falls in love with Justin while he spies on her family restaurant for his parents' restaurant. The two fight their parents for their love (similar to Romeo and Juliet) and, soon, are allowed to date despite the feud between their different families.

When she was born, her parents let her have a soul so that she could socialize in the mortal world, which makes her nice and down-to-earth, as opposed to most vampires, who are usually heartless and cunning. Being a young vampire, Juliet is also very slow in her development as a vampire, as her fangs have just started to come in (Wizards vs. Vampires: Tasty Bites), and she is only able to turn into a full bat as of "Three Monsters". Without blood, Juliet seems to age more and more. After drinking blood, her body returns to her teenage looks.
She mentions having relationships with Caesar and Galileo in the past. She worked at her parents' restaurant, The Late Nite Bite. In her bedroom, the basement, she has a chalk drawing of a sunny view.
In Wizards vs. Vampires: Tasty Bites, Justin tells Juliet he loves her (thinking that's what she was about to say). He was extremely pleased that she didn't freak out. In the next episode, Wizards vs. Vampires: Dream Date, Justin got frightened that their relationship was going too fast and chickened out of her invitation to a lake. However, he got to her half-way to the lake on the carpet. In the sky, she told him that she loved him too.
In the final part of the Wizards vs. Vampires saga, Wizards & Vampires vs. Zombies, Justin asked Juliet (at the Best Night Ever Prom in front of everybody) to go steady with him. Her answer was cut short by Zombies crashing Alex's Zombie Prom. After the dance-off, Juliet agreed to go steady with Justin and the two shared a kiss.
Juliet returned in the episode Three Monsters. Juliet and her family were put in danger when Justin accidentally turned in her family to the monster hunter council. She was temporarily saved when Alex switched her scent with Harper's to confuse the monster hunters. Juliet was then finally saved by Justin who showed two other monsters to the monster hunter council so Juliet would be saved.
In Night at the Lazerama, Juliet goes with Justin on his monster hunt for a mummy. They go to a museum, where they become trapped in the mummy exhibit with a glass roof in which Juliet couldn't stay under because of the sunlight, which can kill a vampire. Justin then made a selfless decision when he decided that Juliet needed to become the mummy's slave in order to save her life. Justin promised to find and destroy the mummy one day to get her back. She was last seen walking away fanning the mummy with her bat wings.
In Wizards vs. Werewolves, she is found and saved by Justin. In the episode, it is revealed that she used to date Mason Grabeck, but she says that her soulmate is Justin. When Mason attacks Justin, she uses her vampire powers to fight him and ends up losing her vampire powers due to Mason scratching her. After that, she becomes her true age (though this doesn't make much sense, as if she lost her powers of immortality, she would have died) and is forced to leave Justin, making him heartbroken.......but since she did not die it is possibal she might still have some supernatural power left
editJuliet's Endgame
Juliet and Mason get in a squabble (Juliet was defending Justin) and was scratched by Mason, thus stripping her of her powers and revealing her true age of 2,193 (though this does not make sense as if Juliet was 2,193 years old, by that which time, a mortal would have perished, and Juliet lost her immortality, she would've died) and she is forced to tell Justin goodbye, leaving the both of them (Juliet and Justin) heartbroken.

Being a vampire Juliet is an extremely powerful being:
Transformation: She can transform fully or partially in to a bat (i.e. arms to wings).
Superspeed: Juliet can move at incredible speeds, best demonstrated in Wizards vs. Vampires: Tasty Bites, were she was able to move from one end of the street to the other in a blur.
Flight: By turning her arms into wings Juliet can fly, according to her, at a top speed of around 45 miles per hour.
Incredible sense of smell: she is able to smell foods and scents over quite large distances.
Immortality and slow aging: She can live for practically forever and ages at the rate that she looks Justin's age when she is in her two thousands.
She however lost all her powers however in her last appearance. but since she wasn't killed when she turned her real age it is possible she may still have SOME power left .

Trivia:
-Juliet Van Heuson is portrayed by Bridgit Mendler.
-"Wizards vs. Werewolves" is the last look on Juliet van Heuson since she ( Bridgit Mendler) is going to be the star on the new Disney Channel original series "Good Luck Charlie"
-She and her family are said to be level 6 monsters, being a very powerful creature.
-Juliet's name is likely a pun on Romeo and Juliet.
-Juliet's father's name, Alucard, is Dracula backwards.
-Her last appearance is considered by fans to most sad romance since titanic ,
-Speculation says she can be saved if the fountain of youth exist . it's possible that Justin will try looking for it in an attempt to save her ....
-Since a recent interview says that the Mason storyline is not finished then it is possible that Juliet's story dosen't stop here.

Kelbo Russo: Kelbo is the brother of Jerry Russo and Megan Russo. After Jerry won the Wizards Test, he gave his powers to Kelbo, because Jerry wanted to get married to a mortal. Kelbo's first appearance was in Alex in the Middle, and later in Retest. Kelbo is a fun loving guy who uses his magic to enjoy himself and do practically everything Jerry tells his kids not to do. However when it comes to using his powers in a serious situation Kelbo is somewhat lacking, in fact its apparent that he was actually the worst wizard out of him, Jerry and Megan (comparible to Max who rarely gets a spell right). However Jerry chose to let him keep the power because Kelbo for his lack of non magical skills would have been far worse off without them, rather than his brother who set up his own business and his sister who is a talented painter.

Facts:
-It is shown that in Retest that Kelbo and Max are very alike.
-The reason Kelbo has his powers is because Jerry gave up his powers to him, even though Jerry won the wizard competition.
-Kelbo is very careless when using his magic powers.
-He is very grateful that he has magic powers.
-In the Retest episode, Jerry explains to his sister Megan that Kelbo needed his magic powers more than Megan because he can't do anything without them.
-Jerry says that Kelbo's life without magic wouldn't be the same, since he is so used to using magic all his life.
-He sometimes uses his wizard powers to go fishing for llamas.
-He wants to be in the city of Atlantis when there is no more magic.
-His wand resembles a typical magician's wand; the main part of the shaft is made of dark brown wood, while the two ends are made of lighter wood. It is snapped almost in half in the middle, and often folds in on itself, one sign that he is sloppy.
-He is also known as Shakira

Herschel Laritate: Herschel Laritate is the principal of Tribeca Prep Sr. High School, which is shown when he calls Alex into the principal's office. The last name, Laritate, is a pun of Larry Tate from Bewitched.
He loves anything related to the Old West and decorated his office in that fashion he also wears a bolo tie, which he is fond of. (Another name for a bolo tie is a Lariete.) Laritate has an on-and-off relationship with Alex—in that he is disappointed in Alex's lack of work ethic and unwillingness to do well in school, but it is evident that he cares about her through his many efforts to reach out to her. The reason he punishes her so severely is because he still believes that she can still turn herself around, unlike other students who he either knows he cant get through to or wont do whatever they did wrong again. He holds a pop quiz every Thursday, however he gives the answer in all the questions except when asking Alex whom he believes should be able to handle harder questions like Justin. He makes Alex join the Happy Helpers Club and is Alex's art teacher in the episode Art Teacher.
Mr. Laritate is also the adviser of several activities at the school including the World School Summit at the U.N., Happy Helpers Club and Quiz Bowl, and he teaches a History class and a Marriage and Family class. He once taught the art class. In season two's "Don't Rain on Justin's Parade", Mr. Laritate calls Alex an evil genius, much to Alex's pleasure. He does not have a college degree said in "Franken-Girl".Mr. Laritate is one of Justin and Alex's teachers. In the episode Alex's Logo, it's revealed that Mr. Laritate's first name is Herschel.

Trivia:
He is one of the few teachers shown and the most frequent that appears.

Magdalena Larkin:
Magdalena Larkin is the mortal mother of Theresa Larkin and the maternal grandmother of Justin, Alex and Max. She only appeared in the episode Quinceañera to attend Alex's party. Justin and Max are very close to her because they like to wrestle with her, specially, with grandma always winning. She is portrayed as a very cool grandmother. During her visit the trio had to reduce the use of magic, so that she wouldn't find out that they are wizards.

Mason Greyback:
Mason is a transfer student from England. He is perfect in every way with the exception of his view of art. He is known to like dogs and history. His 1st appearence is in Alex Charms a Boy. But he is mentioned in the episode Future Harper when the future Harper asks Alex "Did Mason break up with you already?". In the episode Wizards vs. Werewolves, it is stated that he is a werewolf (Which may explain his love for dogs). It's also stated he and Juliet Van Heuson dated over 300 years ago, which is possible because it s also revealed full werewolves do not age

Mason and Juliet get in a fight (Mason tried to keep Alex in Transylvania) and was bitten in the neck by Juliet, and transformed into a full wolf, forever, leaving him and Alex heartbroken as he left.

Mason was shown from his first apperance to be a quite talanted artist, as he was able to paint and draw several quite realistic and well detailed pictures.
While in werewolf form he also posses all the traditional powers that werewolves do:
Incredible sense of smell: He was able to track scents thousands of miles away.
Transformation: Like the lengends when ever the full moon appeared he would transform into a werewolf, first his behavior would change, then his eyes would glow and his teeth would become fangs, his facial structure would morph, then finally his hands and the rest of him.
Inhuman strength: He was shown to be incredibly strong, able to jump quite a large distance, and match blows with a vampire.
Incredible speed, reflexes and agility: All demonstrated during his fight with Juliet and Justin.
High pain restance and Durability: Shown by the fact that during the fight, no matter what hit him, he did not react in any way other than contiuing.
He also showed that like in the legends, he lost control when he turned full wolf.

Mason's last name is pronoucned 'grey back'; which may refer to Frenir Greyback, the werewolf in Harry Potter.
According to an interview with Selena Gomez, the show isn't finish with the Mason storyline, so Mason is going to come back in the fourth season as a recurring character.

Megan Brooke Russo: Megan is Jerry and Kelbo's sister, and Justin, Alex, and Max's aunt. She doesn't get along well with her brothers as she is still angry that Jerry gave his powers to Kelbo, not her, which is why Alex, Justin, and Max did not hear of her till the episode "Retest". In the end, she still is mad at her brothers. She never did get along with Theresa either because that's who Jerry gave his powers up for. Jerry stated in "Retest" that he gave his powers to Kelbo because he would need them more than she did because it would be a travesty. Though, she still was mad. Megan lives in Paris and is a talanted painter, even if some of her work is about her getting back at her brothers.
[edit]Trivia
It is shown in Retest that Megan is very similar to Alex.
Also in the episode Retest Justin is alike to Jerry, and Max is alike to Kelbo.

Messenger Fish:
The Messenger Fish is a fish who was only seen in "Wizard School Part One". He is known to keep secrets but sometimes tells anyone about it.

Miranda Hampston: Miranda was Justin's girlfriend for two episodes of the show. She is a new kid in school "Pop me and We Both Go Down" and starts dating Justin in that episode but in "First Kiss" which is before "Pop Me and We Both Go Down" she isn't new and is already dating Justin (this is due to episodes being broadcast out of order, though based on the production codes for both episodes, they were also produced out of order as well). She is hated by Harper (due to her crush on Justin) and dresses in a goth fashion. She likes the color black and hates Corporate America and "cool guys". It is said once that she's the new girl, but it is also said that in fifth grade she passed a note to someone saying she liked them.
Miranda is a goth girl who is new to Justin's Biology class and was assigned to be partners. She hates 'cool' guys and prefers scary music and dark places. Miranda was also Justin's first kiss in First Kiss when Alex used McReary Time Reary 18 times to help them have their perfect first kiss. She was never seen in any other episodes afterward. Justin liking and dating other girls could mean that they had broke up a while after.

Monotone Woman: Monotone Woman (Amanda Tepe) has played numerous characters during the show's first season, as well as one guest appearance in season two.
She appears as a random character who speaks with a monotone. Jobs she has held include department store manager, waitress, frozen yogurt store manager, hotel maitre'd, dog show security guard, the information desk lady at Volcano Land and art museum security guard. Being an employee at Volcano Land supports that she is possibly part of the magic world, seen as how Volcano Land is a location in the wizard world. Tepe's only appearance on the show during the second season is in the episode "Wizards vs. Vampires: Dream Date" as the hot dog vendor person. Her name in "New Employee" is Amanda, according to her name tag, but in "Art Museum Piece", her name is Elaine.

Mummy:

A mummy is the remains of a dead eygption that was wrapped and put in a tomb in a attempt to preserve them . the one in wizards of waverly place was
Possibly a former evil wizard which could explain his powers. he was brought back to life by some unknown source (possibly a mummies curse) and made people into his slaves for his own needs (possibly world conquest)

One mummy was spotted in new york, Justin was assigned to hunt the mummy down, after all the other monster hunters were killed, he takes Juliet to help him. But soon they are both trapped in an exibit.
The mummy begins to hypnotise some people into becoming his slaves
Who begin to deliver his treasure to him, While Justin in Juliet are trapped
The sun begins to rise. In the middle of the confusion Justin thinks of a plan to save Juliet from dying in the sunlight, he convinces her to look into the mummy's eyes so she can become his slave. This being the only way she can be saved. Juliet agrees and has become a slave. Justin swears to Juliet that he will destroy the mummy and free her if it is the last thing he does.
He later keeps his promise when he and max attempt to track Juliet down with the assistants of mason who was revealed to be a werewolf. They use his werewolf sense of smell to track down Juliet’s scent. It is revealed that the mummy is hiding in Transylvania were he has taken Juliet. After a journey to Transylvania they find the mummy and Juliet. A fight starts which ends ultimately with them unwrapping the mummy destroying him.

Mummies are described as being very powerful as they are level six monsters ( wich would explian why he wouldent need a wand to use magic) , here the powers that he has displayed (Although as we have only seen one mummy they have more) but since mummies were once liveing humans this one might have been a wizard in life.
Mental Hypnosis: If any being looked into a mummies eyes, they would become its slave, forever or at least till the mummy was destroyed, they seem to still posses there personallities though.
Telekineas: The mummy was able to leavitate juliet, with engery that looked like blue lightning.
(Possible) Necomancer: it is likely that he was a necomancer (a wizard that has the power to control the dead or undead) explianing his power over juliet and how he was brought back to life
It also was able to break the rule that magic doesn't work on plastic, as it was able to make the plastic intangible, it also knew that juliet was a vampire, sugesting some form of mind reading (expecially as the blue energy was touch the top of her head).

-its unknown what he was in life , its possibal that he was a evil king or preist , some fans belive a (more likely) theroy he could have been a wizard in life , possibly a necomancer ( a wizard that controls the dead) wich would explian his powers
-he is the second character to die on screen , the other being steavie nichols (although as it was already dead its unknown if it conts)
-his name remians unkown , but he apears to be an almagram between imhotep and karis , two villians from mummy movie's . karis himself was simaler a necomancer , and imotep was a evil priest who bracticed black magic and betrayed a king.

Nellie Rodriguez: Nellie Rodriguez is a student at Tribeca Prep Sr. High School and is of Cuban descent, and was on a Quiz Bowl team with Harper until Alex wired the buzzer wrong. Later in the episode it was said that she returned and "Team Maroon" won. She was first seen in the season one episode "Alex's Choice" where Alex describes her as a very positive, upbeat person with Alex saying "There's nothing worse than a 'Positive Nellie'."

Professor Crumbs: Professor Crumbs is the headmaster of the Wizard school, WizTech. He is a wise and powerful wizard, and one who Justin admires. He has appeared in the following episodes: Report Card, Wizard School Part One,Wizard School Part 2, Saving WizTech Part 1 and Saving WizTech Part 2.
In Saving WizTech - Part 1, Professor Crumbs and other wizards were housed at the Russo's home while WizTech was infested with many plastic balls, for plastic weakens magic. Max began to help Professor Crumbs rehabilitate to the mortal world and even teaching him how to pull "old-school pranks" on others, making Justin say that he is immature.
In Saving WizTech - Part 2, it is revealed that his beard is fake when Ronald Longcape Jr.turns evil and asks for his beard. Max states that he is not used to looking at him without his beard. In the same episode, it can be inferred that he is very picky in keeping his clothes clean when he went to change his robes because Max had spit on him. Later, he took revenge by spitting on Max. He can also get greedy at times when he went over to the Longcape's stand and stole some t-shirts along with Dean's card for Alex. He also seems to be very fond of muffins, he is seen in two scenes to be eating one and accidently sprays Alex with muffin crumbs when she enters his office, He is even holding a muffin in his portrait on the wall in WizTech, hence his name being Crumbs
Spells used:
Some are evil, some are kind, but now all must speak their mind.
You haven't acted with any responsibility, say goodbye to your magical ability.
Professor Crumbs is supposed to be a spoof of Professor Dumbledore in the "Harry Potter" series

Riley:
Riley is Alex's crush in "I Almost Drowned in a Chocolate Fountain" and "The Supernatural", and her boyfriend in "Alex's Spring Fling". He is on the baseball team, and obviously likes Alex just as much as she does him. He appears to be at Alex's level in most school subjects, such as Spanish. He also appears to be one of Justin's friends, and is on the baseball team with him.

Ronald Longcape Jr:
Ronald Longcape Jr. is an evil kid at WizTech. He was a love interest for Alex in season two's Saving WizTech Part One and Saving WizTech Part Two, while Alex was still in a relationship with Dean.
Ronald shape-shifted into Dean and broke up with Alex so he could convince Alex into coming to WizTech with him; he froze the real Dean inside gelatin. Ronald then used Alex as part of his evil plan, to become the most powerful evil wizard at WizTech. His plan was foiled by Alex's love for Dean. His father, Ronald Longcape Sr. (Maurice Godin) only pretends to be evil.

-The only spell he has ever been seen using is "Piggly Wiggly Get In The Jiggly."
-Even though he has only been using one spell he has used a lot of magic without spells.
-He along with everyone else is "uncomfortable" when interacting with harper's "stare."

Stevie Nichols:
Stevie Nichols was Alex's friend until she found out she was evil. Stevie and Alex first met during detention, in the episode, Detention Election and had been friends through the episodes, Eat to the Beat, Third Wheel, and the Good, the Bad and the Alex. In the episode, Eat to the Beat, we, along with Harper, find out that Stevie is also a wizard when she takes out a wand and preforms a spell to turn the rock band into a smooth jazz band to stop Alex and Justin's fight, but Stevie erased Harper's memory of the spell before she (Harper) could tell Alex. But unluckily for her, in her next appearence, Third Wheel, Alex preforms a memory jogging spell on Harper to make her remember, and Alex finds out that Stevie is a wizard, and Alex and Stevie go off on magic adventures, leaving Harper as the 3rd wheel, but they (Alex & Harper) make up.

In Stevie's 4th and final appearance, she concocts a revolution of wizards to cast a spell to override the powers distributor (thing that takes wizards' powers away and transfers them after they lose the competition) and gets Alex and Max to join her, or so she thinks. Then at Wizard hall in the distributor room, Alex turned on Stevie and froze her, and with the help of Harper pushing the button while the frozen Stevie's hand was on the distributor, helped Stevie's brother get his full powers.

Stevie is frozen and stripped of her powers by Alex and Harper. Max accidently tips her frozen body over, causing Stevie to be shattered into pieces, and therefore killed. This makes Stevie the one of only two characters to be actually be killed on-screen, the other being The Mummy.

Although stated to be "evil," Stevie was actually a fairly well liked character among the fanbase. This has led some people to write fanfictions where Stevie has returned from the dead.

T.J. Taylor: T.J. Taylor is a young wizard who goes to the same school as Alex, Justin and Max.
T.J is very similiar to Alex in that he uses his magic frivolously. However unlike Alex whose intentions are never really malicious T.J is not above using it to hurt people to get his own way. Whether it's adding 30 years onto his ex-girlfriends life or even brainwashing his parents so he can do whatever he wants without consequence.
He is very unpopular at school, his catchphrase is "I'll show you...", something which only he thinks is funny.
It is not said which of his parents is a wizard or if both were.
He is in Alex's art class, which was formly taught by his ex-girlfriend, after he turned her in a middle aged woman out of spite.

Theresa Russo (nee Larkin): Theresa is the mother of Alex, Max and Justin. She runs the Waverly Sub Station with her husband, Jerry. As a mortal, she possesses no powers, but encourages her children's discovery of magic and their Latino heritage.
Theresa Russo is a typical mother. She's fussy, caring and can be pretty embarrassing. Theresa lives in Waverly Place in Manhattan with her husband, Jerry Russo, and her children: Justin, Alex, and Max.

In the episode "Alex's Logo" she said she was popular in High School but Jerry Russo later said she went to a all boys school.

-Revealed that she was the first girl admitted to a formerly all boys high school making her "wildly popular".
-She absolutley hates magic and cant handle a wizard class without getting annoyed.
-She thinks that because she's not a wizard she can't get in trouble for wizard laws.
-She is of Hispanic descent.
-In the episode 'max's secret girlfriend' she says whilst pretending to fly the magic carpet "I'M A WIZARD" admitting she wants to be a wizard sometimes
-She is potrayed by Maria Canals Barrera.

Zeke Beakerman:
Zeke Beakerman (Dan Benson) is a friend of Justin. Zeke is considered "cool", yet nerdy. He attends Tribeca Prep and is in advanced chemistry along with Justin. He is also part of an "alien language" club; he and Justin often "speaks alien" to each other. His first appearance was in "Movies", where his name was Zack. He and Justin are also on the same Quiz Bowl team in "Smarty Pants". Zeke and Justin have tried out for several sports teams, but have apparently failed at all of them. In "Fashion Week", they somehow succeed at talking to models. Zeke takes tap-dancing lessons, and also enjoys clogging. Zeke got the role of Peter Pan in the school play in "Fairy Tale". In the episode "Wizard For a Day", he is upset when the real aliens do not understand his "alien speak". Zeke and Harper go to "Zombie Prom" together. As of Season 3 Zeke has been featured in episodes more often.

Relationsships:
Harper Finkle
Zeke has shown interest in Harper, but the two have gone on a date Alex's Zombie Prom. Zeke accepted when Harper asked him immediately, and appeared to enjoy himself with her, often complimenting her. In "Alex Russo, Matchmaker?", Alex convinces Zeke to ask Harper to be his science fair partner after Justin decided he wanted to be alone in the Science fair this year. He said that he's always wanted to talk to Harper, and they both have a crush on each other.

  3. I wonder how nobody reconignized that the name Ignatius also comes from Harry Potter. It's Percy Weasley's middle name, making him Percival Ignatius Weasley.
